I just got back from Orlando and tonight I am going to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch a movie or three.

I figure the best way to tell you the winner (once I can spend some time and look them over and pick the one I really like), will be to have it just show up on the header of this forum.

Just glancing through, there are several that really catch my eye and are possibilities. I just hope I didn't sort change anyone whom posted their entry in this forum, thinking it would be in the contest and haven't checked back since I set up the new forum for the actual contest entries.

And yes, I am sure there is a winner for the contest. But I know I am going to have to do some real studying to figure out which one I think I like the best.

Thanks to all of you for entering, and the rest of you for giving encouragement to those that did enter.

What a surprise it will be to the winner when they see their logo up in the top left corner. Man, I get chills just thinkin' about it and I ain't even a contestant.

I went through this forum, just in case some of the entries in here didn't make it over to the new section I opened up. I was afraid I might miss something that was posted in here earlier. I felt it would be fair for me to include everything I could before I made a decision.

I have narrowed it down to two entries for the finalists. Now I just need to stare at them a while longer to figure out which one I like the best.

Is the suspense killing you all??? :D
 
Rats. There's no dead smilie. Otherwise I'd post it. Is there specific time and date you're going to announce the winner? Don't wanna miss it. *excited :D *
 
Sorry about being so slow, but I'm just now recovering from a grueling show season amd still have LOTS of babies to take care of.

On top of that, I am doing a big conversion of my FaunaClassifieds site this weekend. I like this (cornsnakes.com/forums) style of message board better than the one I have been using there, so I am going to convert that Ikonboard board over to this vBulletin version. This will not be a piece of cake! There are over 3,000 users there with about 30,000 messages.

As I have said, I have narrowed the choices down to two. But I want to make real sure I pick the one that is best. Maybe I should ask my wife to pick one.

As soon as I know, you will see the new logo on this site.

It is exciting! I think I've been to the boards a lot more in the past week than I have in a while, waiting to see who won. I definitely have my favorites. Are we going to get to know who the runner up was?
 
Ooh, yeah, will we get to know the runner up? (I think the runner up should get some sort of little consolation prize...)

On one hand, I think it would be nice to let the runner up know how close they came to being the winner. But on the other hand, maybe it would be better to have everyone whom entered believe that their entry was the one I had trouble picking the winner over.
 
I agree with you on the second part.

Let the runner up be left an Unknown. You're right, then everyone who entered and didn't get picked would have an equally fair sense that they may have been close to winning. After all, being the winner is based on a subjective determination, is it not? That is to say, you're going to pick the one you like and the one which you feel best represents what we have going on here, right? This is not a criticism. I'm just stating a fact. :D
 
You know, with all the excitement this has generated, I think I might want to have a hand at designing the new logo too. Rich do you think you could extend the deadline for me just for a few days so I can come up with something really quickly?

Hey Rich, if your having too much trouble maybe post both entries on a poll page and let the members decide with a vote. Just keep track of how many members to prevent the finalist from voting more than once, or somthing to that nature.:)

So I guess that you are going to be having around 2 out of 20 or so lavenders in Canada.

Right now I know of 5 people (not including you yet) that has lavenders in Canada.

3 in Ontario, 1 in Montreal, 1 in NB, and soon you'll be another one in SK.
