What's your Hide?

I just saw a pic that Justine66 posted, she had made a hide from a coffee can!

So, my question is........... What are some unusual things you have made snake hides out of??

:realhot:

One of my snake's favorites is this thing:

I lay it on its side and I cut a hole in the lid. The snake loves it and it makes getting her out so easy because I can just pop the lid off and slide her out.

Ah, cool! I actually have a Cocoa container very similar.. I may try that! I may cover it with moss or something to disguise it! lol.

teehee! I posted on that thread but it wasn't my hide..
I was just giving a complement ;)

 that's too funny,I just thought that it had looked cute!
and actually I'm not a huge fan of the whole house hold items as hides..;)

unless its for a snake being quarantined or a hatchling as most small hides are still huge for a baby to feel secure in; I LOVE cork bark though ;)
if you can find it at a good price, my corn absolutely loves his..
and I absolutely love the way they look.

I cut tissue boxes in half (or more), and take out the plastic. It's already got a hole in it!
I have also used half-cut Tim Horton's coffee cups (or McDonalds, or whatever else is in the US) :p
Margerine containers with a hole cut and sanded in the lid for a shed box...

I LOVE Timmy's cups for hatchlings!
their one of the only places that will gladly give you an extra cup with your coffee if its too hot so me and my boyfriend always ask for an extra with our coffee, and the babies get nice clean hides!

and they fit perfectly, :)

Justine, I use mine for my little ball python! I cut it in half length-wise and place it ontop of the half log as a "bunk-bed" :) but yes they would be perfect for hatchling corns!

aha!

that's too funny, yeah I couldn't believe how TINY Sirius was when I first got him, he filled up 1/3 of a toilet paper role.. lol and was about ad think as a no. 2 pencil ..

has grown up fast though"

I did the coffee can for Augie who is currently hiding in his can. Juan loved the baking cocoa can.

It's a fish breeding cave

Snow has a princess castle but her favorite is an oatmeal container I have stuck in the back under her vines.

I really like the fish breeding cave, looks nice and sleek!

I ALWAYS have my eyes pealed in home stores for things that snakes can hide in, or cheap water dishes!O_O

I found that brand new tea light holders work great as hatchling water dishes, their nice and heavy and cost anywhere from 1$-2$ ! I love them..

I've used paper towel rolls, etc. Now for 3 of my snakes I just went to the local dollar store and found some plastic bowls, cut a notch out and there ya go! They seem pretty pleased with 'em. My RB has a more "natural"ish viv, she has a fake rock hide thingy and a half log hide with moss which she seems to enjoy.
