When corns attack

My corn (whos about 8 months) has recently started to get violent with me, and actually striking at me and getting my hand. I havent changed any behaviour around him. Hes still getting his food as regular, fresh water as regular cleaned out as regualer, and handled as much as he did before. But yesterday, when it came t cleaning him out and feeding him, he just got nasty, and did the same tonight. Any ideas?

When was the last time he shed? Is his eyes getting cloudy? I'm not too sure what else it might be. If his eyes are kind of cloudy he might be ready to shed.

Did he strike at you after feeding? Did you handle the mice before picking up?

If he got nasty after feeding maybe he was still in feeding mode one of my corn would be done eating and still rattle her tail for a bit so I left her alone and gave her fresh water later.

no, he finished shedding a few days ago, and i hadny yet fed him or handled any mice. its really weird. he use to be so tame, and now hes really nasty

Did you wash your hands good before handling him? Maybe he is smelling 'human' food?

Or maybe he doesn't like the new cologne you'r wearing! :shrugs:

:crazy02:

thats the weird thing, ive changed absolutely nothing. i washed my hands before handling him, like i always do. its the same soap and everything. im realllllly confused by it all.

do you feed him in his tank or in a feeding tub? Maybe he was expecting food. Dose he just do this when you go pick him up? Is he fine once you have him out for a while?

he probably isn't getting 'nasty', he might just be confused or scared or something. Not all bites are aggressive in nature (I'v been niped by lots of different animals).

Cheers for the replies guys.
I feed him in a feeding box outside his tank, so he shouldnt have been expecting it in there. Diamond, you could be on to something. His temp in his tank has raised. My flat in the warm weather gets really hit and his thermometer is showing a difference
