I follow this, and I also look at my snake when digesting: if the prey barely makes a lump in the midsection and/or you don't see a lump in the midsection after 24 hours (too soon for handling, still digesting), then it's time to move up...I usually double-up on prey size first (going from one pinky to double pinks, instead of directly to fuzzy) just to give the snake an easier adjustment time of preparing to digest a bigger meal.
