Okay, so I'm looking for the cheapest way to get a few more terrariums for some future snake hatchlings without having to go for the plastic container. The best way I've seen is really to get a 10 gal aquarium from Petco and adapt for a snake.

But I have to pile books on the top of the tank to keep a nosy snake in. Then while I was at a Reptile Expo in the fall I purchased a tank with a locking top. It's wonderful. It slides out from the front and there's a metal pin to keep my snake from pushing it out.

So my question is... anyone know of a place where I can just purchase the locking tops? Or resonibly priced enclosures like this in america? I didn't get the name of the booth I bought from (am kicking myself now) when I purchased this in the fall.
 
hmmm....Whenever I go to "Petsmart" they always have the "Kritter Kage" vivariaums..those have tops that slide right out and then back in..and you can put a lock on it to make sure the snake definitely never gets it open..Mine dont' have locks as niether of my snakes are strong enough yet to push it over..plus it latches at the end so I'm not to worried...either way..try "Petsmart" they have good enclosures from what I have seen..
 
Yeah I would look for the "Critter Cage" but it is a little more expensive. If not you can always buy the clips for the lids at most pet stores that work well. ;)
