Where to feed?

Ahmad Rahim

Corns, corns n more corns
I have a question about feeding, Everyone says to not feed your snake in it's home, because it will not be able to distinct feed vs. your hand. So is it fine that i just feed my snake on my carpet? I do have containers that I could feed him in, but I like looking at him while hes feeding, so is it fine that I just feed him on my floor carpet?

I put ours in rectangular plastic containers. Only need to put the lid on if they are not really interested and need some time to get comfy with their meal. Otherwise we leave the lid off and watch. Somehow, even after 3 and a half years, watching them eat still amazes me. HOW DO THEY DO IT?? So cool.

Do you want mouse juice in your carpet? If you don't care, and your snake doesn't care about eating out in the open with you watching him, then it's fine...

What if you just fed him in a large plastic container with the lid off, though? Don't walk away for even one second!!

I like to feed babies right in my hand, but by the time they are adults the strike is a little scary.

Thanks A lot! I was actually thinking about this, I could just get a spare plastic tub type container and feed it in that, and of course I won't leave it alone :p I've only had my first snake for about a week and a half, and already I've noticed that this snake is a fast little thing, and thanks for the advice,

P.S. You give some really good advice, Thanks!

It doesn't really matter where you feed your corn snake... i have 2 corn snakes that will only eat in their own cages, and i have 3 that wont eat in there cages... The rest really dont care, lol... i usually feed them in large plastic containers, as long as you dont bother them while their eating, they should be fine! Good Luck! :)
