Where to start?

I have posted a thread on here before about starting a colony but at that time I figured that it was effective because of the # of snakes I had. Things have changed. I plan on feeding them f/t and not prekilled, so I am thinking of this as a longer term thing. Thing is I don't know where to start to where I won't have an abundance of mice that keep filling up the freezer. Yes, I know the answer to that is to go get more snakes, but at this point, I don't have the room. lol.

I have
a redtail boa on adult mice
2 corns on adult mice
1 corn on fuzzies
1 corn on pinkies
1 rough scale sand boa on pinkies
3 Saharan sand boas --- at this point none of these are eating, but once they start I expect it will be 2 fuzzies and 1 adult mouse

So the need will be
4 adult mice
2 pinkies
2 fuzzies
Every 5 days --- now I know that in a 6 months or so, a couple of them will be switching up to the larger size.

But with the need, would a 1.3 colony be what I need? If I remove some pinkies but want others to grow into fuzzies and adults, should I remove a few from each of the litters or take a whole litter? I didn't know if one female would go beserk if I took her babies and there were other mice with babies in the same cage. Also, what size of tank would the colony need?

I also have one gravid Sand Boa, with plans on breeding a 1.2 pairing next year and I plan on breeding the 1.1 creamsicle corn pair next year as well.

Thanks any help will be appreciated.

sorry meant to say that when I was talking about it before I found that it wasn't effective to have a colony when I only had a few snakes. :bang:
