Whistling when breathing?

Shade

Attack Iguana
Sorry for posting this here - I'd post it on the boa forum I go to but I don't like posting there. They're all kinda jerkish.

Anyway, the boa I got on the 24 whistles slightly when he breathes. I don't think this is an RI, because his tongue flicker is still very much apparent. It's more dramatic if he's doing something like say; swimming in the bathtub, but it's almost always there, if somewhat slight. Is this normal for snakes, and I'm just noticing it because the boa is bigger than all of my other snakes? Could low humidity cause this? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Jake

I read here that if they have just shed, they can have something with the scales near/in their nostrils that makes them whistle...

I'd get him checked out by a vet- then you'll know for sure. He didn't have optimal care before he came to you- who knows how they kept him. You don't want it to get worse- and it could easily tunr into or already be pneumonia.
