I was perusing different web sites for the fun of it and ran across this on a web site....??????
This is advertised as a Lavender Aberant Corn Snake Male for $100. Seems to me someone might be a bit disappointed when they found out they paid for a corn and received a mutt. They also have some Het Newport Corns for sale if anyone is interested!!! :shrugs: :puke01:

I thought it looked like an albino cali. king....................but I'm a moron, I couldn't even figure out how to use my camera. :)

Did they have any 'het Marlboro'?

I guess I'll never completely understand what leads people to advertise things in such a way. Maybe it's a just a case of pure ignorance of what morphs are what (and what species are what). I'd almost prefer to think that it was ignorance rather than malice that is behind it.
It still sucks that someone is going to come along and buy something that was completely misrepresented to them. Hopefully, that person will be buying the snake based purely on it's beauty and not for breeding.

That looks like a 100 percent albino California kingsnake to me. Someone would be in for a real shock if they throw that in with some "other" corn snakes.

I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't look like it has any corn in it.

It appears to be an abberant, lavender albino cal king - don't see any corn influence in this guy.

The lavender designation applies to cal kings to distinguish two different amelanistic genes - regular amel and lavender amel that are not compatible. The lavender gene in cal kings is completely unrelated to the lavender gene in corns (needless to say!).

It appears that this guy got classified as a cornsnake by mistake

It's a nice looking king though :D I love them albino kings. Hopefully the buyer does their research before hand :D

Hmmm... I couldn't tell if it was a pure Cali King or a King/Corn cross as I am not familiar with the Cali Kings at all. Yep, sure would be a shock for the unsuspecting buyer to toss that one in with one of his prized corns. "Hey, where'd my corn go?" YUM :eatpointe

I don't know if they are confussed sellers or put the wrong picture with the information, but they also have Het Newport Corns which are DEFINITELY not corns either. :shrugs:
