why is my snake so active

Ghor Vrath

hey

i fed my snake last night, and now (noon) he's still cruising around his tank, i dont think i've seen him this active before.
is it just because he ate, or cause his cage looks different (his branches and stuff slid down, hehe)

well, he could be exploring. . or trying to pick a spot to hide out in while digesting. What do you mean by his branchs slid down..? Could they have scared him? That could be what made him so active.. I dunno, because usually after my cornsnake eats he either lays on the warm side under his branchs, or he goes to his cave on the cool side.. maybe you should check the heater, make sure it's working....? he could be looking for a warm place to lay if its not..? lol as you can tell, I really have no clue. just ideas. As long as he doesn't regurge, I think he's fine..

well , he was like looking for a way to get out his tank, hehe
just going in cirlces around the tank, hehe

but he went under his hide this afternnon, he's just chilling there now, i think the temp there is around 27c

he gets fed again on sunday, so will see if he's all active again or not, hehe
(and gives me time to fix up his branches and such...)

I almost forgot! He could be hungry. When my snake was smaller he would cruise his tank looking for more mice. (when I fed him in his tank) He could just still be hungry. But that depends on how much you feed him for his size.

That is what I was thinking. Most of mine, if they stay out at all, just take one or two quick laps and then tuck themselves away to digest. If he was out for an extended period right after eating, he could be hungry. If there wasn't a noticeable lump afterwards you can probably go up in size a bit. Like you mentioned, you might wait and see if he acts the same way after this next time. If so, then he very well could just be hungry and looking for more food.

aha! thats probly it then

i only fed him 1 pinkie, after he ate it i was like "damn he looks full, surely he cant eat another?!?" lol
the next day he didnt even look like he had eaten anything

so i'll feed him on sunday(5days after last feeding) (a big and a small pinkie :p)

while i was feeding one of my corns yesterday outside of it's cage in a cardboard box it attacked and ate the pinky while running back in forth in the box trying to climb out.
