just been cleaning out chione this morning.... cleaned her bowls, hides, logs etc... put fresh corn cob down and the the usual paper towels over the top... last thing to go in.. the snake....
yup, she seems to like it.. so much so that she did the biggest, runniest poop EVER all over the freshly cleaned logs .....
had to do half of it again from scratch!
odd thing is.. those 2 fuzzies i fed her last monday took 6 days to fully digest!

blito...

You made me question whether I used the word correctly, so I had to go look it up.

One of the definitions is: To excrete (bodily wastes).

must be an americanism then.. its certainly NOT a word that we would use in that context on this side of the atlantic :D

You used it correctly Terri! Mine usually goes about 3 days after I feed her.

Bottom line is

they OFTEN eliminate when put into a clean cage. Frustrating habit, but get used to it. Unless their digestive system is empty, they will find a way to poop up their clean cage! I've tried even putting a dirty hide in there for the adults to make them more comfortable, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'd suggest a substrate besides corncob, personally, but that's another thread. At least with such a substrate you should be able to spot clean...

I have a couple of my corns that push my buttons, clean the cage change the water and as soon as they can get to the water they poop right in the water bowl. Which is no big deal but I think they know I use bottle water for the bowl. And I think it gives them something to laugh about.

yup it does seem as though every time you clean the little buggers out they do the smelliest poo possible.

yup i cleaned mine out 2 days ago and stright over the fake leaves lol.

eliminate in the UK means like to totally wipe out/kill or blow up somthing lol :angry01: :argue: :bomb:

suppose in a way they do eliminate the tank lol by crapping all over it after it looks nice and clean lol

certainly does NOT share the second definition on this side of the atlantic...
imagine the amusement when informing workmates... "brb i need to elminate myself"
LOL they`d call the samaritans toot sweet i think!

I don't think you'd tell the little lovies that you were going to "eliminate yourself".....you would just say that you were Off to eliminate. :)

Hmm... and I thought I'd lived in England all my life...

I'd use the word "eliminate" in the same way as those on the other side of the pond. It seems perfectly normal to me!

Mine loves to eliminate in a newly-cleaned viv too - spreads it around all over. It's almost as if he needs to scent mark it all again!

Am I in the right place - I was after the Corsnake forum but I seemed to have stumbled into a place discussing the nuances of the English language!!!

My Ozzy is the same though - he likes to park lunch just as I put him back in his valeted abode!!
