My 6 year old daughter has been helping out around the rescue center, and she took some photos of me at work, so I thought I would share. All photos were taken by my 6year old daughter...

Releasing fledgling Barn Owls

dscf1376.jpg

A very young Raven that was hand-raised at the center. Unfortunately, he is human imprinted, which is very difficult to avoid with a young baby that needs constant attention. He will be released in a remote, hard-to-access location where he will hopefully not encounter very many humans.

Anyhow...I don;t normally share photos that I didn't take, but I really like these ones. The kid is a chip right off the ol' block...

Thanks for looking!

Awesome pics :) Your daughter's got a good eye ;)

(we just gave our 7-year-old our old point-and-shoot so she could take it on our walks. She loves it :D)

You're right, Chris! She's definitely following in her father's footsteps!!! Make sure you tell her how much we love her pics -- as an encouragement!!!

How is it that a man who lives such an interesting life, with such a great talent, looks like a regular guy? AND you have beautiful children with definite gifts in the photography department? Geez! LOL! I love the photos. Tell your daughter that she did very well :). Tell her to tell her Daddy that I want that raven while you're at it, 'k? *grins*

Thanks, everyone. We appreciate the comments!

Irish Eyes-
You gotta fight me for that Raven(I call him Poe). He is the biggest lover, ever. I'm trying desperately to have him "soft released" behind my house, but I have neighbors, so it isn't likely to happen. Unfortunately, not everyone would be nice to such an outgoing Raven. He actually comes when I "caw" to him, and for the average person, it would be either terrifying or an opportunity to kill a "nuisance"...
