Will he be ok?

My mum always brought me up with animals where she'd threaten the snappy ones with 'If you bite me I'll bite you back' - don't think I'd be using that piece of advice here but just having it brought back into my mind made me giggle, the poor snake!
The funny thing is they never actually bit her afterwards (she did mainly use that threat on horses and dogs - loads bigger than snakes!)

I'm sure he'll just forget about it - or just view that contraption with some trepidation in future. Like most animals, once he gets some feeds from you he'll probably be fine :) The advice from the others on here sounds pretty good, I'm useless as am still waiting on getting my first corn :(

More research, saving money for the equipment, then money for the snake and also still planning on where it would go once I've got it. Can't keep it just anywhere as the cat may take to stressing it out (probably by finding the top of said enclosure to be a perfect perch :S) Plus it may be an idea to save for a mini freezer for the food, flat only came with a fridge ;)

It will happen in 2013!

Honestly, when I was new here Nanci made a comment that stuck with me. Cornsnakes can live up to 20 years so you'll have plenty of time to get to know each other. Don't rush him let them settle in.

I was lucky with mine. He was and still is very gentle. Little squirmy at first when he was little but now is pretty much at ease with me handling him. Last night he decided he wanted to crawl up my shorts while laying on the sofa with me and spent all of NCIS there. Of course I couldnt' resist telling my wife to reach down my shorts and grab my snake.

So true! No need to rush him! I guess I've been impatient. We'll have plenty of time together. thats hilarious though! talk about trust!

I handled him last night and he was fine. He was a little squirmy in my hands but crawled in my jacket pocket, and kept trying to crawl through my hair haha.
