will my corn eat her shed?

I have a 6 month old corn, not sure what kind yet!, she got very pale like she was getting ready to shed, and now she looks as if she already has!! Is it possible she ate it?:eek1: Also, she last ate on Sat. (2/27/04): 2 pinkies. She usually eats every Saturday, same amount, problem this time she hasn't pooped yet! Should I wait to feed her? She has been hiding alot more than usual, should I be concerned? Sorry about all the questions at once, Antoinette(Tony), is my first and I love her to death and just don't want anything to be wrong with her!!!!:D

I don't think they eat their own shed, but they will clear up pretty much just before they shed, so I wouldn't discount not having shed yet. Start raising the humidity by spraying the tank with a little water, or putting in a damp hide for her. What sort of substrate is your snake on? Sometimes if it's the darker stuff like bark or coconut husk, it's hard to see the poop. I thought my snake hadn't gone when I used the dark substrate, but she really had, and I just missed it. I use light colored substrate like Aspen, or Habi-chips now, and I can see everything a lot better. If she seems healthy, and is looking for food, I would think that you'd just missed her poop. Her hiding more could be in preparation for shed.

Thank you!

my corn is on light substrate (tank is lined w/papertowel), however she does have a "log" for her water!! I'll have to check it! I'm going to keep an eye on her for a bit longer to see if she'll shed! She's only shed once since I got her and that was about 2 months ago!! Hopefully she'll shed soon!!:D

Let us know how it goes...mine sheds about once a month. I usually check the water everyday to make sure it's clean, full, and every couple of days I wash it out completely and refill.

yea!! she shed!

She finally shed last night (3/7/04)!! thanks for the input and helping me not to worry about her so much!! thanks again-- I'm glad I found this site... it's a life saver!!:D P.S. Tony's shed was all in one piece..so all is great!
