Wood Slaters

Hi bobo's moma, yes my mantis is cool. I had to buy him, well I know he's really a she now lol, as soon as I saw her. She was called ben because me and a friend bought them both on the same day, and he named his bill. So I thought bill+ben the flower pot men, and that was it. I aren't changing her name as she's only going to be around for a few months and I'm sure it doesn't bother her lol.
She eats spiders, moths, crickets and flies. I place a pot of maggots in her tank and they all hatch into flies for her, the rest I either catch in my garden or buy from the shop. On occasion I give her raw chicken.
Oh and IMO you wouldn't let one go. I could never let mine go as the temps over here in the UK are too low for a start. I'm breeding her this year if I can find a mate soon enough, and a mate is sending me a couple of chinese mantids to try mating those aswell. So hopefully soon I'll have hundreds of the little buggers!

Having just read a bit about them, looks like you might be right though Bobo's Mama. They like pretty moist conditions and eat decaying vegetable and plant matter so I'm not sure that snake poop would be high on their menu.

I also discovered that they're edible.

*Heads off to the garden with a fork .... ;) *

I once researched those bugs, commonly know as isopods. I would warn you if you are going to keep those in your viv. I started with 2 in a jar with cheese cloth on top and I ended up with a few hundred in a week and a half. The babies are so small if you dont have cheese cloth on your lid, they are going to get out and overrun your house. I warn you, to make sure you know what you are getting into before you introduce these into your vive. Seriously be careful. they prefer to live in dirt so they can burry themselves so I dont know how that will work. Just please be careful and use cheese cloth!!!!!
