working out tank sizes?????

hi me again, iv had a look on the forum but cant seem to find a link that tells you how to work out tank sizes

mine is Length: 30inches/76cm
width: 12inches/30cm
hight: 15inches/38cm

if someone could past a link on this thread leading to how you work this out or explain how you work it out or better still work it out for me i would be very gratefull.

its ok i found a link that shows me how and im going on its just over a 20g tank but that is including the height.

to figure out gallons(US)

L * W * H / 231 = ______

To fill in L W H you need inches.

If that doesn't quite make sense to you..........

30*12*15/231=23.3766

in other words its a 23 gallon tank.... you learn something new everyday.
 
Once you have done this long enough you'll be able to just look at a tank and tell how many gallons it is. :cool:
