Ok im just s lilttle worried about my female she laid her eggs about 6 days ago and since then she has not eaten at all and will not eat she lays in her hiding spot all the time she's only came out mabye twice. And what worries me is she's getting really pale again like she's going too shed but i dint think it would happen right after laying egg's and she sheded less then month ago..

I know she need's some time too rest and heal up but she wont eat and she just look's way too pale.. Are there any problems that come after egg laying that might be going on.. Or am i just worying too much... This is my first snake and her first clutch and shes 6 1/2 years old.. So any one with experince that could throw in there 2 cents it would be apperciated..

Females will often go right back into a shed after laying their eggs. Some can also be very fussy about what they eat right after egg laying as well. Those that refuse a F/T small mouse get a live rat pup (just turning into a fuzzy) and that rarely gets refused. After that, my girls usually go right back into eating anything I throw at them.

It's normal for a snake to shed after she lays eggs. Make sure she gets plenty of water if she hasn't eaten yet. Actually holding her near a bowl of water or putting one very close to her would be a good idea. Snakes need lots of water after laying.

Have you tried a smaller mouse? Most females will take a mouse a size or 2 down from their regular size. If she hasn't eaten by the time she sheds, she will probably be quite hungry afterwards. Start with smaller mice and once she starts eating again, feed her more often. I often feed my females who have laid eggs a smaller mouse every 5 days until they gain a fair amount of weight back.

Good luck.
