Worried

I am very worried about my snow corn snake. He is about nine years old, and for the last couple weeks he hasn't been acting right. He has refused food and just isn't as active as usual. Could he just be getting old? I don't have the money to take him to the vet right now because I work part time as a waitress, and all that money goes to bills and food. Any advice?

Nine years old isn't super old for a corn snake, so I wouldn't think that old age is affecting him yet. Is he about to enter a shed cycle? Are your temps normal?

I have a corn snake that age. I'm having same problems. Very low activity and won't eat. I increased temps some. He seems to be a little more active. I am waiting a few more days and I will try feeding again. Took mine to a vet. He didn't know what was wrong with him. I think I need a better vet!

They could be wanting to hibernate. My male ghost is about 10 yrs old. Won't eat either an is hiding a lot. Even though they are in captivity they still sense the change in seasons.
