I have a 15yo grey corn, for the last week he has refused to leave his hide. It started out 2 weeks ago like a typical shed (eyes grey, slowing down, etc)but now has retreated to hide. He never shed after eyes cleard up. All conditions are normal. Is he dying of Old Age.
Thanks for any help.

Before suspecting old age (15 isn't that old for a corn snake), I'd check other factors - temp, humidity, light cycles, etc. You're in Maine, and it's starting to reach brumation time for snakes in that part of the US...

That's really interesting - not in a bad or good way, just interesting!
I too wouldn't jump to the conclusion of old age. Snakes are weird ;) it could be a number of things. I wonder if because it is growing less (being 15 years old) if it takes that much longer to shed. I'd still be looking for a shed daily and whatnot like you have been.
Don't stress yourself though! I once saw someone write "Snake's gonna snake", and that's very much true.

:)

This is the first time he took 3 weeks to shed from time his eyes blued.
Usually its less than 10 days
