Want some more!!!
I just checked my babies this morning and I found an entire scylla skin!Complete with eyecaps and tail tip!Was 14 inches long!Is that good for a 5 week old hatchling?I sprayed thier boxes yesterday and left them alone again and got my nice surprise this morning!I am sooo chuffed!Must have got it right!Just waiting for Medusa now... :grin01:

Yeah! Good news for you. Congratulations. I just had my second successful shed yesterday so I can totally relate. I have one question though. How do you know who's shed it is if they are kept together. :shrugs: Anyway, hopefully the other one will shed soon too.

I found another shed!

Just a quick update,I looked in medusa's box yesterday and lo and behold!another skin! But this one was different. This one looked like a balled up sock, only about half was "normal".Scylla's skin was unravelled so am guessing that that was normal. What does being "balled up"mean?I misted thier boxes every day while they were in blue although I must admit I did forget to do this one day.Could that have caused this? The shed was entire in any case,I managed to unravel it and found the tail tip and eyecaps so am happy it was entire.I'd just like to know why this might have happened and what I can do to stop it from happening again.Thankyou all for replying! :shrugs:

It's been my experience that when they shed balled up it doesn't really mean anything. Most of my hatchlings in their deli cups shed in balls but some have shed all out. I guess I think of it like taking off your socks, sometimes you ball them and sometimes you take them off whole. Just depends on the day. The important thing is that they shed in one piece balled up or not. If they start to shed in pieces you may need to up the humidity otherwise it sounds like everything worked out fine, congrats.
