Yet another heating question

I am moving my year old corn up to a bigger tank. She was in a 10 gal. I have a tank that is 36L X 13W X 16H.

Anyway, I used to use a red bulb and had asked prior questions about uth. I really tend to overthink things.

Finally I have made a decision and think I will be getting this one:

Has anyone heard of them? Is the 11 X 11 large enough? I like that they put out consistent 90 degrees. My house is 77-78 summer and 68-70 winter. I do have a rheostat or thermostat if needed. I am also going to do the stick on tile thing and raise the aquarium which is on a dresser.

Finally, will I still need the red bulb? I can have it over the hot side if needed.

Those look good. I had not seen dragon's lair heat pads yet. I like the constant (average) 90 degrees--if it is really true, seeing that most heating pads average higher without a rheostat or thermostat. If I were you, I would get the 17" x 11", because of the size of your tank, and your snake over the next year to year and a half will grow into it.
 
Hey, did you by chance get a boaphile cage? If so, do you have pics of it? I was thinking of getting one of those.

One thing I worry about with those 90 degree heat mats -
What if 90 degrees at the heat mat doesn't make enough heat INSIDE the cage. I mean, if you had a cage made of thick acrylic and your house was really cold, there's a possibility that you would need more than 90 degrees at the mat just to reach 80 inside the cage. :confused:
 
It does get in the tank. With out our dimmer switch the UTH would get to 96 degrees. Thats with the probe on the inside of the tank in the substrate. Its just like that new way of heating ceramic tile in houses where they lay the heating coils under the floor. Its amazing, no cold tile :D
 
Hmmm....now see I am going to worry about the 90 degrees not being hot enough.

Isn't it crazy how we worry about these little guys?
