So yeah, my cornsnake escaped today :bang:......... all I can say is thank God I was able to find her before one of our cats did! Or there's no telling what kind of state I'd be in right now.

I'm pretty confident in how secure my rack is, made it myself with room to keep lids on the tubs as a cat detterent. However what I didn't predict was me forgetting to securely close said lid of her tub this morning after getting her out. I can't tell you how panicked I was coming back later that night to find one very empty tub, and one very missing cornsnake :eek1:

Thankfully, after tearing apart my closet, and then getting help from dad. I spotted her sitting on the heating element between the wall and some other things in the corner of my room with this "hey mom! This is lots of fun!" look on her face. The little stinker...

I need to go take some long deep breaths now, my heart about stopped when I realized she was gone. Guess I learned my lesson on thinking my rack was escape-proof as well :D.

Congrats on finding her!! :dancer:

I think we all know that panic when we cannot find a snake. I had a scare recently when one of mine was hiding too well in a fake cave rock.

I had a scare the very night I got mine. Little sucker was hidden so well in her little fake tree I didn't see her. I set it down outside the cage and turned the cage inside out. She just sat there outside the viv for a good couple minutes while I was panicking my head off, lol. Man I was so nervous about everything back then :p
