Zilla critter cage

So I have a critter cage, but how should I get the thermometer in? Should I drill the mesh slightly, go from underneath, or what? Ructo's last tank just had boards on top to keep him in, but this one has a mesh lid. Sorry if this a stupid question.

Are those the glass ones with the sliding screen top? Some of the ones with the sliding screen tops have little notches designed for the wires, and others have little tabs in the plastic that are designed to be broken off if you want to make a space for wires. I'm not sure about zilla brand in particular.

How odd. Mine has some notches at the back that you can pop out that are used for cords.

I see little triangle like tabs in the back. I thought the lid would cover them, but it doesn't. I am guessing that is what you are talking about.

Yes, they should pop out fairly easy or I used a pocket knife, they are used for easy passage of cords/wires
