Zilla Escape!?

Just before I upgraded my 08's water dish/hide combo he was able to cling to it when I lifted it out, but I noticed it was heavier than normal. Of course he was around 100 grams at the time and a deffinitely easy weight to notice lol. My 09 ghost escaped a cage like yours. About the same age. I ditched tanks and started using tubs. Only escapes since were my fault.

I have some tubs already, I just ... I'm not sure if I want to change.
I don't have a collection, so I like having the tanks.

Anyways, I guess I could always blame the boyfriend.
But it WAS closed all the way, I'm not sure.

Maybe his snake IS 007, who knows.

Who let the snakes out?... Who? who? who? who?

i couldn't resist letting my old hockey teams 'song' out (we were the huskies so the song who let the dogs out was a match)

anyways, glad u found ur snake, hopefully it was just some freak escape and will never happen again :)

I would not call you snake 007 then it would shoot its way out. Im leaning to the fact the snake is an under cover ninja. I would say Chuck Norris had it before you but then it would just round-house kick its way out.

LOL..../sigh.../facepalm..

I don't know how to respond to this. LOL

Is there a way to respond when you find your your/someones snake is a ninja? I hard a hard time dealing with it at the start on my first one. But I was prepared when Penny taught sheldon the arts of a ninja

It's a zilla mystery. I have two of them, so I'm really hoping it was the ghost.

I also use Zilla tanks with sliding/locking screen lids. My juvenile king snake escaped once because a fake plant got stuck in the space at the back of the lid for running wire through. It held the opening just barely wide enough for Quetzal to squeeze his way out. I didn't even notice the fake plant when I closed the lid, because it closed all the way and locked! It was still locked when I discovered his misadventure. Very deceiving.

Maybe that is a possibility? If you're using fake vines or anything, perhaps something got caught and the lid still locked when it was closed, so no one noticed the problem.

No fake vines or anything, just some hides.
I'm thinking it was some kind of fluke or maybe the boyfriend did it by accident, not sure.
I'm going to get another zilla again either way this Sunday (bigger since they need some upgrades) I still trust zilla tanks.

But what I was wondering, and any help is appreciated...
She does have a grey indent on her head, not sure if it was her squeezing out of something, a run in with the cat, or what...
It's on a head scale and it doesn't SEEM to be bothering her, and I'm not sure what to look out for.

What should I do? Will this go away with time/sheds? When should I look into taking her to the vet any signs?

Maybe she got the injury while escaping, from squeezing through something or having something fall on her head. Snakes are amazing in their ability to squeeze through tight places. Can you get a pic of her head?

Actually, she probably isn't in any danger. I could tell you stories you wouldn't believe of snakes recovering from injuries. Give her a little time and I'll bet there won't be any problem. I wouldn't waste a visit to the vet unless there was a lot of blood or irratic behavior. Even then I would probably take my chances...don't think a vet could do anything for a head injury.

;)
