Is that some kind of invitation for kinky sex? If it is girl say it right out. I don’t understand this new lingo. I’m an old guy remember.

You could always change it to *cougar*!

Robbie, Lori would not be much of a cougar to me.. I am getting closer by year faster than I want too..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

They did a SNL skit on cougars with three chix, it was hilarious.

Oops. sorry if I'm taking the thread off topic :roflmao:

I always tell Dean I'm his cougar. Somehow, however, he acts even older than I feel most days. :p

Yeah.

A few cites sprinkled in a conversation are OK. And it is OK to have debates, they are kind of fun. But unless you are in court, you do not need to cite everything; and more than that, even if one IS in court, one speaks with an eye toward persuasion, not simply beating one's opponent senseless with books. Facts are the backbone of an argument, but delivery can win you or lose you your debate.

If we were all sitting around in a living room and talking this subject out, we would use courtesy, humor, and most likely be friendly with the give and take that personal interaction can bring.

For some reason this thread escalates at times, becoming a pulsing, palpable blob of earnest debate, losing the pleasure of true persuasion. Let's pretend we were in each others living room.

Well, thanks for singling me out to make this point to. It was not me that had a tantrum, shoved my message out there, while oxymoronically saying I'm not going to argue, and then stormed out of the living room while muttering something about never coming here again.

I can only imagine it must be quite a burden.

Lucielle, So sorry, I was confused, (a typical response for me in the chit chat department). Here, have some cheese and crackers. May I get you a glass of wine?

That wasn't me, Im still here :)

Vitamin supplementation is what I mentioned earlier. Vitamin supplements are not needed in a healthy, balanced, omnivorous diet. .

Additionally, vitamins by definition are organic molecules needed in VERY SMALL AMOUNTS. If "meat eaters" get enough (as Kathy was alluding to), it doesn't matter if vegetarians get more. Remember that water soluble ones (B,C) just get urinated out, anyway. Fat soluble ones (A,D,E,K) are the ones that are likely to become toxic if ingested in real high levels. Some organisms have toxin eggs to deter depredation thanks to high levels of fat soluble vitamins.

Again, if you get enough, it doesn't matter if someone else gets MORE thanks to their dietary choice. Again, saying "vegetarians get more vitamins" is proof that fake arguments have to be used (purposely or thanks to ignorance) to try and "prove" a point.

Vitamin D (more correctly called Vitamin D hormone) is an anomaly. Vitamins are something an organism can't produce themselves, but Vit-D was named prior to us realizing we have the ability to produce it ourselves in the presence of sunlight. Although milk has it (because Vit-D hormone helps with calcium absorption), we don't really need it unless you are HEAVILY pigmented and live in an area with very low solar energy (or just NEVER go out into the sunlight). Since most of us aren't DARKLY pigmented people of recent African decent living in norther Siberia or Alaska, I don't think this one is a real concern for most of us.

Look you guys I unsubscribed from this thread because it was hinted at more than once by Lucille (who is listed as a mod on at least one of these boards) that this conversation should be coming to an end and soon. Since it does irritate me to see that what I have said is then misquoted and distorted I figured the best way to avoid the temptation to respond each time was to unsubscribe to this thread. Silly me was under the impression that I was complying with the request of a moderator. I only even came back to this thread because I saw another post listed on the main board by Lucille and to be honest I thought it was going to say something to the effect of hey guys I said stop. To find out that now I am being categorized as having had a tantrum simply because I thought I was complying with the subtle hints of a mod is unfortunate, and I believe wrong of ya'll. So to be clear yes I am coming back to cornsnake boards, but I did unsubscribe form this thread so that my emails not updated every time this thread is, because again I was under the impression that a mod wanted this conversation to come to an end. If complying with a mods hint that we should leave this subject alone is the equivalent of having a tantrum, then I guess I am guilty.

Seriously. I was merely trying to get everyone to quit attacking each other. It is fine with me if the debate goes on, but it kept spiralling out of control and I was merely attempting to facilitate some courtesy and reasonable behavior so that the debate would be constructive.

A mod? I guess, in my own forum. I run the saloon down in the low rent district, but that doesn't make me special.

He has said Im unhealthy and abnormal because Im the same weight I was at 16. Seriously? I am also an LPN....you would think I would know if something was wrong.

Actually, that isn't necessarily so. I've known LPN and RN (I'll leave out the joke of what those stand for since you would likely take it as an offense if I'm reading your tones in the other posts correctly) that couldn't do basic math with fractions. I've taught a lot of students that managed to pass the exam and practice as a nurse. Not all of them are people I'd trust to put an adhesive bandage on a SPLINTER much less choose a healthy "alternative" diet.

Now, you may be the best LPN in the world. Kudos if you are. I'm not attacking you or LPNs in any capacity - I'm just sick at the statement that because someone is a (insert job here) they could not make a job-related error. That's B.S. The argument that you can't make a dietary mistake BECAUSE you happen to be an LPN (especially a mistake about yourself where you may be biased) is not only potentiality invalid, but it is humorous. Also, saying you stopped growing in mass at 16 is not normal, even if it is not necessarily unhealthy. Of course, I know lots of people that weight less at 30 than they did at 16, but that is because they were overweight at 16 and are eating better in later years.
