This is a dart frog viv that I have been working on the last few months. It is about 98% done. I have to add leaf litter and live moss.

That's one sweet setup!!!! I have always found myself at shows looking at those darn frogs. I haven't bought any yet, but I have often considered it.

Thanks, I should get better when the plants start to grow in. Setting up viv's is what sparked my interest in owning reptiles.

im jealous of your skill. it takes a lot of research, focus and drive to do that. i have always wanted to do this after reading about the tree boa viv in reptiles some months back. im still interested but i work too much right now to start in on something so detailed while still getting my daily stuff done. so ill live through you.

Here is a photo of the bulk head that i installed. I drilled a 1/4 hole in the glass. This is to ad in draining the extra water in the viv. The frogs and plans the are living in their like high humidity but not to have stand water.

Here is a photo of the fales bottom. It also help with removeing extra water from the soil.

This photo show the start of the "earth wall back ground".

I glued one of the cork bark to the green styrofoam panel. Then i used Great Stuff expanding foam to give the wall texture. Before the GS harden i placed two PCV elbows into it. These will be used as planer on the wall. Then the hole wall is cover with silicon and then cover with coco fiber.

AMAZING! Building a natural dart frog viv is one of my life goals! Yours are amazing, and I can't wait to see pictures of the frogs enjoying their homes!

Thanks for the kind words!

Ashley, I hope to be getting frogs in Jan./Feb. They will be a small group of
Dendrobates leucomelas!

I defiantly had fun building it and as lame as this might sound. I also enjoy just looking in and only see the plants. The frogs will be the Icing on the cake!

Nice looking vivs! I have been researching and working with a friend on doing a viv. Thanks for sharing!

wow. im envious. looks better than mos zoo enclosures no doubt. that takes some knowledge and talent. i would love to have that nice of an enclosure someday, its basically like living art to look at.

Nice work Dusty! Have you seen Mac from Macspoison at the Cleveland show? I vended next to him at one of the Akron shows and he's a really nice guy, very knowledgeable and has some pretty sweet P.Darts!

Very unique and appealing. I have always thought those guys looked like little jewels.
