As a full member in good standing I would like to request that Mr. Munson be reincarnated as a moderator. Rich, I know deep down in the center of your heart there is a soft spot that you have never reviled to anyone. I know there is goodness in there.

I second this motion. Dean was listed as the top mod and every time anyone wanted something done they came to him. Fine me, ban me, whatever, but for the love of all that is holy, bring back the Munsonator!!!

Hold on, folks. oke: If this discussion is going to mutate into a situation where some members believe it is OK to be disrespectful of one of my mods in their efforts to try to get Dean reinstated as a mod, well, things are going to get kind of ugly around here in a hurry.

I meant no disrespect to Jeff, I am sure he knows that. I would hope that others who read that knew I was joking with him. I hold Jeff and all the mods in high esteem and tell the frequently.

I'm sorry that you took my statement that way, Rich, as it was not intended to be disrespectful to you or to any of your staff. I just meant that many members would single him out via PM, home phone calls, etc when they had any type of issue rather than use the "report" function for the entire team to respond. It left him feeling very overwhelmed and somewhat burned out.

I can only speak for myself, but I think you have a top notch staff and run a top notch site, and I have learned a lot from you as a forum owner myself. I understand some of the doubts you have, and I can only promise and give you my word that I won't be party to that again.

I like and liked Dean. I didn't dislike him as a moderator in any way. Go Dean-o

HOWEVER, Dean decided to stop about three different times. As much as I like Dean, I like stability more. I'm not against Dean being a mod again - I'm just against Dean being a mod again and then quitting voluntarily....again. It just seems like Dean decided he really didn't want to moderate, and having a moderator who doesn't want the job many days is not happy making.

Mike, when Rich announced the upcoming mod election on Fauna I waffled so much I coulda put IHOP out of business. I loved when I was a forum mod over there, and I like the site a lot with all its characters and goings-on. (Y'all have characters and goings on here too, don't feel left out)

I think he has had storms in his life, perhaps the weather has evened out a bit. He is a wonderful guy, a good leader, and we can simply stipulate that he has to stay at the helm during further storms.

I was going to start a Deano for mod thread a couple of days ago, but decided not to..... As I thought it really isn't my place to say what is decided by the Gods...
But as it's been brought up by you guys I feel I should chuck in my 2c...
First off..... Deano is standing for mod over at fauna.... We all know.....
So why not give him his old gig back instead....
After all Jeff was brought on board to take the strain off the three mods... Mike retires... Nanci gets his gig.... Deano retires through burn out as the fourth mod was placed too late.... Back to three over worked mods.....
Now I've probably earned myself a 'fella'.....
But I do love that guy and miss him on here......

I promised myself that I wouldn't interfere on this thread again since, like Mike said, it IS up to Rich and Dean to discuss, and Dean has suggested that further pestering of Rich may be counterproductive. Dean made his wishes known to Rich, so ultimately, as the owner of the castle, he'll decide if/when he's ready to make the decision.

That said, it's awesome to see how much support Dean has from his many friends here. I agree with all of you that, whether or not he's reinstated as a moderator, I'd love to see him and his lovely hands back here modeling his snakes. We miss ya, Dean!! <3

I have talked to Dean and he said he and Rich have discussed it and that there are several things to be considered. He said he appreciates the support everyone has shown. He feels like this is something for he and Rich to decide and not really something to be voted on. His candidacy at Fauna is one of the issues.

I asked him if this was something he wanted us to campaign for or should we just let it die, he said it would be better if we just let it die. He will work it out.

I'll respect his wishes and will leave it at that point.

It was 1971 and I was naked in the Vietnamese jungles, armed only with a pocket knife and dirty shoelaces. I had already survived a little over 63 days eating rats and drinking stagnated rainwater.

About high noon, I crossed an open field. Although I was careful, still there was only a single quiet moment before the trap was sprung. The enemy surrounded me. I was outnumbered 312 to 1. On any other day I would have said that I outnumbered them, but on this day I had a splitting migraine. It was like an ice-cream headache from hell.

I knew it was a lost cause, but I figured I'd take out as many of them as I could before the lights went out.

Out of nowhere I heard a howl, like a jackal. Bursting out of the trees and onto the scene was Roy Munson.

He whipped out a line that sounded like it could have come from some 80s cartoon.

"I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am ROY MUNSON! Let's get dangerous!"

I don't remember much of what happened after that, but when I opened my eyes Roy Munson was standing in a beam of light, drinking pina colada. All of the enemy were neutralized, and I owed my life to this man.

.All of this being completely true, I feel the need to vote Mr. Munson as a great person, and a great mod.

He needs to be a mod here. the others..they do nothing. He at least kept a tighter reign on the garbage that gets spewed here.
