I think you should stick to BBC Radio guidelines, which are rather stricter and surprisingly detailed. A friend of mine is in a band which has some rather "direct" lyrics and had to attend what he termed a BBC "Profanity Workshop" prior to their live appearance, so that dubious lyrics could be raked through and reworked where appropriate.All words can be used on British TV and none are banned.....
So do I get a special dispensation due to lack of UK censorship.
The usual suspects were banned outright, but I was quite surprised one of the words that they allowed through, and others that were OK dependent on context.
I also made a mental note to pay more attention to their lyrics in future!
