Charlotte Repticon Pickups

Daenerys

Mother of Dragons
Brandon and I went home for the weekend so we could go to Charlotte's Repticon. We got VIP tickets and went Saturday to check things out. We saw that Jeff Mohr had a lot sunkisseds and a few lavenders. Since I am doing a project with lavenders I though it would be fun to mix sunkissed in. So we went back Sunday and picked up four snakes from him. A male sunkissed het lavender, a female lavender het sunkissed (kinked but we'll see how she does when she is older), and a non-feeding kinked male sunkissed and a non-feeding anery blood. We named the lavender Esmerelda, the two male sunkisseds Gwillan and Pyrrhus, and the anery blood Sterling. Pictures:

yeah, I really hope the kinks in the lavender aren't going to prevent her from being able to lay eggs, because she is het sunkissed and I'd get sunkissed lavenders so much sooner with her than if I tried to mix it in with my hypo lavs.

Nice pick-ups. We went Saturday too, I saw a lot of stuff I liked, especially an Eastern Indigo. I didn't pick up anything though, but I was really tempted by that Indigo!

May I ask why you would intentionally breed a kinked snake? It could dramatically increase the risk of the female having complications during egg laying. And with all the perfectly healthy snakes available, why breed for babies with potential genetic issues...kinks, non-feeders, etc? I don't get it...

Because it appears to be more related to the development of the embryo and the conditions it has been kept in, rather than genetic, but ask Jeff after his next clutch project
