Got my first ever Dubia Roaches for my Crested Geckos today. I freaked out because there was a piece of egg flat in there and no container so out crawled a big male towards me! I screamed, Jake laughed then backed up! He took these pics for me..they are actually pretty as far as bugs go..now to conquer my fear of the "ewe" factor!! I can do it...I think...:crazy02:

Ha ha, nice! How do you tell males from females? And where can you order them? I've found places offering hissing roaches, but that's it. I think I'd prefer these to super or meal worms for my rats.

Yea, Dubias are cool. They don't climb, fly, smell or bite so they are perfect. They also have a lot of protein in them. There are several places online...The Roach Ranch (Ian is really great..he is out of mixed sizes right now and still gave me many tips), The Roach Guy..heard he has good ones and good prices. Aaron Pauling, etc. A lot of people are out right now because of the cricket problem...they got some kind of sickness and people stopped using them mostly, and people turned to dubias so now people are running low. I got mine from Roxanne Hatfield off of the Pangea forums.

I put grapes, apples and a dry dry ground up mixture of CGD, Banana Cheerios and Iams cat food and they went nuts when I put them in as you can see in the pics.
