priceless ...

You ARE talking to a brick wall. A couple of them, near as I can tell. The problem with being logical and sensible is that the people you are "debating" with have no logic or sense.

So I've noticed... I may be stubborn, but at least I can back up my statements with some semblance of logic.

Besides...don't you realize that it doesn't matter how much YOU contribute, only how much THEY contribute?:shrugs:

Oh yeah, I forgot - thanks for reminding me! Funny thing is, the people who say this crap (I pay your salary, etc.) usually don't even make that much money... but if I dared to throw THAT in their face, I'd probably have to dodge a punch two seconds later. But somehow, it's perfectly acceptable to be rude to civil servants? It's a misnomer, folks, we're not actually servants.

Well as propaganda goes it worked very well on you didn't it Ty. You have been in a dither for a week over the horrible implications of this JOKE.
Don't worry, LeeW, someday you will get sick of being wrong about me...

I'm not angry, and I'm certainly not angry about the caption or the photo. I'm disappointed that so many people seem so easily and readily accepting of propoganda as "a joke". It's not funny. It's sad.

But you go ahead and keep on screaming about the "fer-in-ers takin' yer job", and the "guv'ment idjits stealin' yer money". Afterall, it's a free country, and it is your right to be you, through and through.

I appreciate you granting me rights Ty. I can't think of a time when I have complained about foreigners taking my job or the government stealing but then reality has never been a limitation for your arguments.

If your conversation in this thread is your happy mellow mood, it surely do not want to see you get upset. So Be Happy, Don't Worry, Hope for Change, keep a happy face.

So having a different POV means having no logic or sense? Just what I thought about the left all along... they PREACH TOLERANCE, but hardly, if ever, PRACTICE it.

You know... I shouldn't include ALL "left leaning" people in that statement. There are some good people there too... It just seems that those who are most vocal about "fairness" and "tolerance" are the least likely to be "fair" or "tolerant"... and heaven forbid you have a difference of opinion with THOSE folk.

LOL, Leew... EVERYONE is allowed to have a POV... but just beware sharing it with those who think you "must think like them" or you don't make any sense or ability to think logically.

For my part, I "hear" what others on the "other side" are saying. Don't always agree... don't always "like" it. But I do my best to not be so "closed minded" to think that my way is the ONLY way to see it.

Please insert "have" to the former post's first sentence (between "or" and "ability"). LOL. I'm ever the stickler for this kind of stuff. Gotta renew my "shiny" so I can fix my errors before anyone sees them!!! :)

It is what it is. I feel bad for the man who was made an example of, and all of the people who are also subjected to public ridicule based on factors that may very well be outside of their control.

For some people I guess it's easy to identify homelessness (or so it seems). And for some reason it makes it OK to use any other negative associations to judge someone who may be homeless. After all, he may be out of work, have no house, no family, etc... but that phone sure shines. I say we take that phone from him and give it to someone who's truly deserving, like a teenage girl that just lost the other phone that her parents paid for... I mean, seriously? What are we REALLY measuring our values on? I'm not even sure that politics and values should even be mentioned in the same sentence.

I voted today. I didn't see any leaders on the paper, just a bunch of rich suits who will wake up everyday without the worry of financial struggles. If there was a vote to put a homeless guy in office, I'd have taken that one. I'm sure he'd be the only guy to walk into the building thankful to have heat, food, water and a place to sleep.

And DYK I bet the homeless guy, after a shower, a change of clothes, a meal & a decent night's sleep, would do a MUCH BETTER JOB than most of the idjuts that get elected!

Best quotes yet!!!

dyk unless the homeless guy is homeless due to substane abuse...and then we probably wouldn't notice the difference!!

Well this thread has gotten silly beyond belief but it occurs to me that to say “I didn't see any leaders on the paper, just a bunch of rich suits who will wake up everyday without the worry of financial struggles.” Is being awfully judgmental. I guess it is easier for some people to identify rich people than it is for others. We all know the kind of person who wears a suit. Wouldn’t what my daughter to date one.

In Alcoholics Anonymous they have a saying, “My best thinking and judgement got me where I am today”. I would imagine many homeless people could say the same thing. Those are the qualities I look for in a leader.

I see your 'attempt' at trying to put a spin on it, but seeing I wasn't judging by an anonymous photo who was rich or not by whether they were wearing a suit, this really has no connection. And seeing you also made no attempt to defend someone who was presumed homeless earlier in the thread (in fact you were quite opposite in your opinions), you really have no credibility to now to try and look like a fair and non-judgmental person when accusing me of assuming. Also, seeing that I ACTUALLY know who was running in my state, I can safely say that they're well off financially, there was no presumptions or false statements made on my part.

You tried, though ;)!

Mike, you and I have crossed swords for years. We have weather you know it or not. Reading your rebuttal above, you are still making your judgment based on weather they are rich or not. "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen." But to say that a rich man can't understand your plight does not speak well for Bro Obama. Michell is practically flaunting her wealth, but hers and her husbands new financier. Does Michell understand where you are coming from, while she is serving soup?

You are a smart young guy and you often say really good things. But honestly, you are very prejudiced toward white people and people who are successful financially. Now I am sure you will object to that assessment but I think many people looking in from the outside will agree with me.

Tyflyer has said repeatedly that rich people or CEOs are dishonest and got their money by cheating you and I. I am only trying to point out the inequities in your statements.

If we are going to be fair and honest and treat everyone the same, then the rich and successful need to be included in that statement.

You said in your previous post that if a homeless guy had been on the ballot you would have voted for him. Does his homeless status alone, as you stated, qualify him? Are you really being fair with that thinking?

No... everyone is entitled to a POV, and like you said, I may not like or agree with it. To not have logic or sense is something completely different, and it just happens that USUALLY (not always) people with a different POV than Chris or Michael or I have a hard time presenting facts to backup their logic.

Yesterday I was watching the election coverage (on MSNBC, of course) and every time tough questions were asked to newly elected Republicans, they would dance around the issue, thank the American people, and still not answer a pretty direct question (I.e. Do you plan to extend the Bush taxes?).

If logic is the issue, be logic and factual... Prove me wrong and I will respect your POV. Use scare tactics, rumors, propaganda, etc. and the questions and lack of tolerance (for non-sense) will be palpable.

JP do you really believe that? That's a pretty broad statement. I think with very little digging I could quote some discussion where facts were documented and the ignored by some of the elite you have mentioned.

Why is is our responsibility to prove you wrong. How about you proving yourself correct?

So basically, if my facts don't add up with your facts, mine have to be wrong? You do know that statistics can be bent to back up anyone in an argument.

Also, I love how it is always the Republicans who are always dancing around the issues. I have seen politicians of both parties dance around the issues and not answer questions directly. If they were to answer the question directly, people would start expecting something of them. I personally like this definition of politics.
Poly-many, Ticks- blood sucking parasites.
I know it is just a play on the actual word, so do not get your panties in a bunch, It is just how I see things. It is my POV, if you will.
