I think I'm biased because I was raised with one as well, but I think Pit Bulls are the best family dogs ever! He's gorgeous, I love his black muzzle and white chest. It's stunning against his tan body.

I hope you don't mind, here I am with my family's Pit Bull when I was a youngster. They are my all time FAVORITE breed of dog!

i dont mind at all! beautiful dog,and you were a cutie too! i think people just believe everything they hear the media saying about the breed. ANYONE who has been around them knows how passoinate and loving they are. they can be trained to be whatever a person wants them to be, but by nature they are not dog aggressive or people aggressive in the least. they actually dont make the best guard dogs unless trained to be, because they are so dang friendly! every one i have owned has been a big baby, and every one i have ever been around. its just sad that when someone is not around something, they tend to fear it....the same goes with snakes, what do most people think about snakes...they bite, they are slimey, they are "mean", ect. but people with any experience with them know better.

I love pits! My grandma had one when I was growing up and I owned one a few years back but the ex got rid of my baby while I was in Iraq claiming he was "scared" of her....she was 4 months old. Grrrrrrrrrr Lily loved everyone! It used to tick me off when people would pet and love on her and as she's giving them a tongue bath they would ask "She's so sweet what kind of dog is she" and I would tell them pit bull and they would then pass judgement on her as if she was knawing their arm off. Ignorant people suck!

ignorant people do suck! especially when they become self proclaimed experts and give a bunch of crap info! i think if people(media personel included) would just make an effort to be around these dogs they would see the real truth....and not judge the whole breed off some punk a** gangstas that just use pits as an image enhancement or to fix their small "you know what" complex! i would trust ANY properly raised pit bull around my kids than any other breed out there, they are just SOOO tolorant of kids. i seriously doubt my kids could make my dog bite them if they tried....seriously.

I worked at the Humane Society for almost 2 years and fell in love with the breed. I think Ohio laws pertaining to Pits are rediclious but I followed most (I say most because there was no way I was going to muzzle my 8 wk old puppy just to take for walks) and had the $100,000 insurance policy although most gangsta wanna bes do not and the dog wardens do nothing!

you are spot on! no pit is mean, without it being trained to be....i agree about the laws being stupid. more cocker spaniels and dalmations bite people than pits! that is a fact in one of my hardback books! and please if you read this and have a cocker or dalmation, i am not putting your breeds down, it is just a fact out of a book, and those dogs are also what they are "made" or "shaped" into...i have known great specimens in both those breeds. and what really makes me mad that they dont even give the pits a chance to get adopted out, they put them down alot faster than any other breed(from what i have heard from a girl i know that worked at a shelter)
