New Leo Geckos!!!

Our leo is on paper towel. I know it's not natural looking, but so easy to keep clean.

The sand is easy to keep clean too. I'm looking into other substrates that would be closer to what they would be on in the wild. They have hiding spots that they can get into so they are out of the sand if they want. We also feed them on little trays so the don't ingest any sand.

We recently just adopted a male as well. Think I may breed them next year and see how it goes.

When I had Leos, I bought some sandstone colored peel and stick floor tiles. They are easy to cut to fit, look natural, aren't heavy, and have zero chance for impaction. They also wipe clean in a snap.

I would never use sand, either - for anything.

The are a semi desert species. Which means that pure sand is not what they live on naturally. There are many different things mixed in to it. I will be setting my girl up in a large 40gal natural type viv. It will have some live plants in it, and will have a sandy soil, with plenty of large rocks and hides around. I also plan on setting up a small pool in it, but that may come much later.
