Not sure Bob :( Atleast I was able to get 2 of the remaining 4 to eat. They all still feel mushy tho so I dont know if I should hope or not. I am almost sure the 2 that didnt eat probably wont make it through today. When you were supposedly born in early to mid august and fed 8-10 times... should weigh more than 4-5 grams tho. Just my humble opinion.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. At this point I havent e-mailed anyone yet. Kinda waiting to see what happens with the other 4.

The 3 babies I got from Candace are doing wonderful! Just so everyone knows :) All ate like little piggies last night :)

Also, at the same time as this raffle, I bought 8 from Walter, they are doing wonderfully as well and all ate last night as well :)

So many shiny new skins and bussing tails in this group :)
 
Dee, make sure you keep anything you got from Doc Walker is super-strict isolation. For months. If they make it that long.

Of course quarantine ALL new snakes, but be especially careful with those. There have been a great number of unexplainable deaths from that source, involving many, many experienced snake keepers.
 
Thank you Nanci :) I do quarantine any new animal I get but I did so especially with these because of their size and feel. I made sure to wash in Nolvasan as well. I dont think they have anything contagious but I am not taking the chance with my other stock either! I truly doubt they will live long enough to make it out of quarantine. Its truly sad and makes me more than abit angry. I guess we will see what happens with the remaining 4. Depending on what happens.... might be a BOI situation?

I am not a novice when it comes to snakes. I have had corns for more than 20 years as pets and been breeding for about 6 years now. A lot of ppl may not know me but there are Some that do :) Plus, I have a big mouth and not afriad to use it! LOL

Dakafall, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss :( Its truly awful when you open a container and find that. Again, so sorry :(

I second what Nanci said about keeping it all in strict isolation. Also for both people here who are losing animals from the breeder, keep all emails from you and the breeder. And I truly believe it is a BOI situation for you and Dakafall also just be tactful and straight forward. I am truly sorry this has happened to you both. I really think it is time for the breeder to stand up and be counted for all these hatchling fatalities. Good luck to you both. This was supposed to have been a good thing to help someone who had heart wrenching losses due to a fire.
 
Yes exactly :) I am proud to have donated to such a cause. I am truly sorry if I muddied up this thread. :( It was and still is a great thing that Candace did! :)

As for me, if/when I hear back from the e-mail I sent. I will decide then if it should just stop or go to the BOI. Forwarned is forarmed :) I will let yous know, if you want, what happens but maybe should be in pm's? not here :)
 
WOW, so sorry for those of you who have had snakes pass. I feel horrible for you, especially knowing how excited you were to win.
 
I'm sorry to hear about all the sick/dying babies. This was/is such a great thing that Candachan was doing and it's really sad that it's spirit of good will and community has been somewhat tarnished by someone else. I went and checked out the BOI and apparently this problem has been going on since at least last year. I'm not sure if we're allowed to link from one site to another, so just do a BOI search for: Reptidoc Dr. Darryl G. Walker. read the first post, skip all the typical poster bashing and start again from pg 39.
 
In that BOI thread, that typical bashing of the OP is why so many people were reluctant to jump in with their own experiences. Rich has put up a sticky asking people to refrain from attacks there, now. Luckily, some people did find the courage to add their stories, but many more have remained silent.
 
I know what you mean. I was a little worried when posting on the BOI was mentioned in this thread. No one should have to be treated like that when they're just trying to save others from the pain and trouble they went through. I almost didn't make it to the end of that thread, it was really hard to read it. Hopefully things will get better.
 
Candace, what you did was and is a wonderful thing and I for one dont regret donateing for ProExotics for one second! :) I look forward to any future raffle you may do and I Know I am certainly going to enjoy the wonderful babies I got from you! :)

Thank you for stepping up and posting about your experience. I'm very sorry for your losses but hopefully someone reads the BOI and it prevents them from further heartache.

I wish there was more we could do to prevent this from happening in the future, but your post is a step in the right direction.

I am so very sorry to hear about the deaths of the snakes! My heart goes out to you all that have lost them! It does take courage to speak out! This raffle was a good thing and it is sad that it has turned so badly!
