Progression thread: Cleo the Butter Motley

Yeah ... I noticed that last pic too! :licklips: I'm trying to get rid of a few food items myself before moving up to the next size! It'll be soon though. She looks great!

Wow is she ever pretty! I am remembering today why I had to take a break from the forum. I see these snakes and just want to run straight out and get one. Now I want a butter tooooooo!!! I love the story behind her name too. Just a gorgeous creature! Congratulations on her. (I know I'm several months behind the times here, but better late than never, I hope!)

Mother's Day with Cleo

My daughter the corn snake.

Mandy's definitely in blue and Clyde is digesting, so I got to have Mother's Day with Cleo. She's such a doll. So totally laid back and gentle.

I make her a little playground on the bed that she seems to like.

Thanks so much. Yeah there's no harm in it and I hate to waste F/T mice needlessly.

Thank you so much. Anytime is the right time! Happy Mothers's Day.

Happy Mom's day!

Cleo seems very happy in her playground with Mr turtle watching over

Thanks Karl! Yeah her Critter Cage gave me enough points to get the free turtle so it's hers. I just read an article about enrichment for reptiles so this I my attempt at something to keep her little brain engaged.

She is so pretty!

Thanks. That means a lot! I'll be sure to tell her.

How fun! Very cute pics - happy mother's day!

Thanks Jag's mom. Same to you!

Remember how I said how gentle she is? Well she is with me, but she put on her big girl pants when it came to tonight's mouse! She's barely even ever struck no less constricted. I set the mouse next to her, she struck and started rolling it up. This dead mouse is really, really dead. So cool.

you just can't be too sure about those Dead mice

I think she's fashioned herself into a Granny Knot if my memory serves me

Just experimenting with the dSLR that I got specifically to take snakey pics. These all could have benefitted from some more light. This is just the kit lens, which is a nice lens but it is general purpose.

These are the best of the lot and I did get the tongue shot! Cleo seemed to have a good time today in any case. I'm sharing based on the pics that show her personality, not just the ones that were in focus, lol.

Nice shots! A good bit of the fun of keeping snakes, for me anyway, is taking lots and lots of pictures of them!

Not sure what to make of this. Rufus is looking at these new pictures of Cleo and he's breathing heavy.

I'm slightly envious of the Tongue shot.

Your pictures are so inspiring!

I too love taking pics of them, as you can tell. Just because it is handy, light and foolproof, the quick shots of unexpected snakey moments will be taken with the phone, but I'm looking forward to more set up photo shoots!

After the initial expense of the camera it will take a while to save up for a macro lens. Even used, the lens costs almost as much as the camera body alone, and this is an entry level dSLR.

:roflmao:

Cleo's has had a few moments looking at Rufus pics herself. He's one handsome fellow. Good thing they live so far apart or we might need to keep a shotgun and preacher handy, lol.

About the tongue shot, just keep taking pictures. You will get one!

Thanks Kalista. My theory is that camera + snake + lots-of-shots = a-few-good-shots. Yeah, it's a good feeling. Especially when I feel like I get a little of her heart and my heart in the pic.
