What's new in enclosures?

Hi All

It's been a while since I've been here. My wife and I shut down our reptile keeping and breeding hobby after having two kids and getting transferred all over the country for a few years.

Kids are now going on 9 and 7 and are each getting hatchling corn snakes next week (under our experienced supervision of course). They both seem to have mom and dads love of nature.

I no longer have time to DIY and don't want tubs/racks. Looking for smaller scale housing that will look nice, be appropriate lifetime homes and not require me to buy lumber lol.

Just looking to see if anything new is out there since I got out of the hobby 8 years ago. I did see these which look promising, but am not 100% sold on them yet. I am Loki g for something along these lines, and want to think about it now while I have a half year or so in smaller tubs to get them started.

I think the God of Mischief autocorrected for you...

I'm doing some digging for ya. There's a guy that attends the NARBC shows here in Dallas that makes ABS/PVC style cages. They're pretty decent and obviously light weight given build materials. I don't know if he's Dallas local or travels for the show. I guess in that same aspect you could do similar with caging from Animal Plastics or Boaphile Caging.

Hmmm...not finding the Dallas guy listed for the upcoming NARBC show, but that's also not until late Sept.

JPM Reptilia, but looks like they are TX based. Not sure who'll be up your way to cut down on shipping costs.

Are you thinking you'll end up with more than two snakes? If not, is there any reason traditional glass vivs wouldn't work? I have my collection in glass tanks that sit on wire shelving. It looks relatively attractive and it's easy for me to access. The front opening glass tanks are the best, but they're so much more expensive, so I look for them on sale.

Right now two, but you know how that goes.

Just looking for something a bit lighter and nicer looking than plain glass. I also breed killifish and keep planted aquariums so already have enough tanks.

Are you able to access wooden vivaria at all? I find they look very attractive in the house if you can get them in a colour that matches the rest of your decor.

Nice looking wood Vic's are on the list. If I can't find anything online, there's a big herp expo in NH this October. Might go "kick some tires" there.
