Hi, I have a five week old corn snake and curently she is staying with a friend as I am visiting family in newcastle (I live in london). I've only been here for a week but I've decided to stay here (I used to live here originally) and most of my stuff is here anyway, whats the best way to transport her up safely? is it possible and how much would it cost, I just want her here as soon as possible so she can settle and us continue the "bonding process" lol she was getting used to my smell.
P.s is it weird that I'm acting like a possesive mother with her lol.

Not at all, that's a good thing :p

Well the best way to do it would be to drive back down and get her. You could get a small temporary box with some aspen in, and a heat pack to stop her from getting cold (either that or you have the heater on for like 8 hours lol). You can buy heat packs from camping shops, or over the internet. I'd recommend www.livefoods.co.uk.

You could get her delivered to you, but personally I'd bring her myself, along with her tank and anything else you need to get whilst you're down there.

All the best

David

A very easy way is to just put her in a pillow case and go. Try to make sure that the car stays warm but not to warm. What I do when I'm going to be leaving my house for more than a week I'll bring my snake with me cause I know that no one else ewill watch him. I have a 1 gallon tank I used to use for a betta and I also have a temp/hum thing that can be moved around and I take that with me. While in the car I have him in a pillow case and than inside the tank with the top on. As I drive I watch the temp inside the tank and change the heater/ac to meet the needs of him.

Just an idea.

Sorry my post was slow.

Again pillow case inside backpack with a heat pack or two. You should be fine.

Is there nothing else I can do, as it took 8 hours on the coach so it would be 16 hours there and back, and I have nothing else to get other than her.

You could try a reptile courier service. I know there is at least 1 RFUK member who couriers herps

Sorry, if you type RFUK in google you'll get reptile forums uk, I'mnot a member there but I have definately read at least 1 member there is a reptile courier.

when i brought my snake from my sisters i just loaded the whole viv into the car and drove five hours to my house. he's was a lil agitated on the drive but he calmed down once we got home. you could prolly just bring the whole thing on the train (is that what you said you took?) if you dont mind some strange looks you should be fine.
