I really meant to post this earlier, but the week kinda got away from me.

Anybody planning going? I'm going to be heading over around 10-11am. Not really shopping for anything besides mice and heat mats, but its still fun to look. Hope to meet up with some of you there.

I'm not PLANNING on buying any new snakes, but you just never know what will happen. Just some adult mice for Persephone (the black rat) and a UTH or two. I'll PM you my phone number. Not sure what our plans are but if we're around I may be willing to pop back over or we could meet for lunch. I live about 10 minutes from the fairgrounds.

You didn't miss much. Really limited selection of snakes. Lots of other neat animals though. I did pickup mice and aspen. Decided to wait on the UTH's. Not much point until I have them for everyone and can turn the heat down in the room. Right now its up about 78-80 for those not on UTH's. So far so good with no 'gurges. I'll have the money saved up in another couple of weeks to get them all at once. Which will be really nice, because spending time in there is pretty much torture, but the cats are loving it.

My wife and I went but got a really late start and didn't actually arrive until 2:30pm. We weren't really planning on buying anything (yeah right!), we were only going to hobnob with some of the vendors we've made friends with over the years. But of course as luck would have it, there wasa snake we ended up buying, a very very nice and reasonably priced adult male piebald ball python. My wife has wanted one of these for years and I guess it was just in the cards for us to get one at this time. I'll post a few pics of him in the General Chit Chat sometime later this weekend.

Sorry we missed seeing you this time Widget, you probably left before we even got there.

I do agree that this show was a little disappointing, actually the last one was disappointing too despite the fact that the one in Feb. 2007 was superb. I was expecting LLL Reptiles to be there and they weren't, and their table is usually outstanding. But there were also some other vendors that haven't shown up the last 2 times either. One of my vendor friends believes it is because of the recent surge of shows that have been locally popping up that has caused some vendors to choose to do some of the other shows instead. Perhaps that is the case, who knows :shrugs:

Next is the Eugene show (which we will not be attending, too far to drive) and after that, I don't believe the next 'local' show will be until the next Unique Animal Expo in September and then the Washington Puyallup show (which is a decently sized show despite the drive from the Portland area) which I think will be in October. Maybe we'll catch up with you at one of those :)

Hmmm if it was a fiasco I might skip the drive :( Though it would definitely have been nice to see you Shannon. But since Eugene is the following weekend I can probably get what I need there. So no worthwhile cornys? I'm glad you guys scoped it out and reported on it :)

Hi Jen :)

If the main reason for going to the Hillsboro show is for corns, I wouldn't waste my time driving all that way :( If you were going to just to go and have fun and check out all the other animals besides the reptile room (which wasn't as impressive this time), then that would be a different story. But I think you would be fairly disappointed considering the drive time and money spent on gas and food if corns was your main agenda. Here's hoping the Eugene show turns out great! :)

Thanks.. I really just wanted to get a few supplies but with the idea there might be something to add to my collection there but it is probably just as well as I am not exactly rolling in dough right now ;) Might be a better plan to go on a hike and take some more pics if it stops raining. Thanks for the info and I can't wait to see your new BP! :)

oohh...I think I saw him and he's gorgeous. I can't wait to see pics. We were there a lot later then we planned but I think we left about 1 or 1:30. Too bad we missed you.

I guess it would depend on what you were looking for. Most of the babies seemed really small for what would have to be 07's. There was an adult normal that was gorgeous, but most of the stuff was snows or anerys(really small) a few normals with unknown hets and 1 stripe (normal).

Scott and I are planning on heading down to the Eugene show and then stopping on the way back to visit with family in Albany. So we'll try to hook up with you then.

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll know what time we're going to hope to be there later in the week.
