A couple of new spidies...

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
Ok I'm done for now. 10 spidies in a matter of weeks is silly stuff LOL. But they are just absolutly adoreable and fluffy and leggy and stuff.

First up, C. fasciatum - Costa Rican tiger rump. Freakin stunning wee spidie, and extremely docile. Around 2.5in legspan.

Baldy bum... it's ok - the fleshy pigment is black indicating it's going to moult very soon.

That is the cutest thing I've ever seen Elle! It looks like it's wearing a tupee!

To get the next spidie I had to endure an arachnophobes worst nightmare. I swapped an avic sling for this Nhandu chromatus (white stripe birdeater) sling.

I opened the pot of the avic to get it out and into a film pot for trasnport, of course little speedy McSpeedyfeets decided to run up my arm, down my arm, then pertched on the end of my finger, crouched down, wigggled it's bum then pounced onto my knee. Of course this is the point where I am freaking out cause this wee thing was FAST. But no worried, got it into the pot and all went well. So heres the birdeater.

I think you just decribed my worst nightmare. I do like the first spider though. How many have you got now?

It was my worst nightmare too until it happened. Then I was like ohhh lets do that again, your wee wiggly bum was soooo cute LOL.

I have 11 T's now with 6 species.

Nice:) I have 4 of the tiger rumps but mine are super tiny little things. I doubt it will stay docile for long, they are a nervous species.

You do know that the chromatus are notoriously bad tempered? They are very pretty though.

Oh absolutly. It wasn't a species I considered ever owning, however I didn't need 6 avics and chromatus are rather scarce in the UK. If we can't get along then I shall pass it onto much more capable hands. It was very slow and unobjective to my handling it though.

The fasciatum is obviously nervous, it's got no hair LOL. But it also is unobjective to being bothered. Nice wee spidie for sure.

I did not know there was a striped tarantula, that's pretty neat.
You'll post pictures after the molt?(he asked, knowing it was unnecessary to do so)

Chromatus are fairly average sized... around 5-7 inches. Goliath birdeaters (T. blondi) have been recorded with a 10+ inch leg span. Chromatus is small for a "birdeater".

You say that now but it won't last... I only planned on 5 and didn't stop until 30. Welcome to another addiction LOL
