HELP!!!

I hope you can get those wounds healing cleanly. I've just converted 2 live-only corns to f/k. using cervical dislocation and giving the mice while they're still twitching has worked for me. I'd suggest giving a twitching f/k weanling a try after a week or so.
 
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. As soon as I was done w/ work, I headed for the local walmart, got the betadine and peroxide and neosporin (w/o pain relief!!). I came home, disinfected a tote I had and lined it with paper towel, and moved him in there w/ his water dish which I also cleaned out real well, while I started to clean his cage. I also cleaned his wounds right away. 50/50 solution like tyflier said and then covered the bite wounds w/ neosporin. I cleaned them out again right before I went to bed. I also raised the temp in his cage. This morning, He was hiding in his rock shelter and when I took him out, almost all signs of swelling around the wounds are gone and you can see where he's already healing!!! I really do have high hopes that he's going to do well. Thank you soo much for your help!
 
Oh, and one more thing, I called around, and one of the local vets now has an exotic vet that comes around on Mondays and Thursdays. Today IS thursday, but she's full up I can't get my python in today. However, on monday I will take him in. :)

Hey guys. Just a quick update. The smallest of the wounds is practically gone. The rest are half the size they were. He/She goes in at 1pm CDT Thursday. I tried to get it in on Monday but the vet doesn't come until 3pm and I have to leave by 3:30 for work and she didn't have time by then. She said that with what I'm doing she isn't going to worry about it and that Thursday will be fine. I'm also quite excited to get a definitive sexing on him/her and a weight, as I have no good way to weigh my snakes.
 
Took the little guy in to the vet on Thursday. My vet said that the 50/50 peroxide betadine was actually a little strong but much better than using either full strength. I have to give him antibiotic injections once every 3 days, soak him in another antibiotic solution every day and put a silver sulfadiazine ointment on him every day as well.

Weird thing, my vet actually highly disapproves of using aspen for any snakes... very odd.
 
I'm glad your snake is doing much better! I'm just a little puzzled on why she gave you so many medications to use when your snake's wounds were already healing..I dunno..I an understand the injection to fight off any internal parasites..but the other stuff just kind of puzzles me..Either way though..I'm glad she is doing better :0)
 
The vet said that using the peroxide inhibited his healing a bit... which I don't know. I understand how that works, but I was also using neosporin which promotes healing. I don't even have the silversulfadiazine because the vet assistant said it was OTC and she didn't call in a script and it's prescription only.

I hate having to give him shots. He squirms so much. I actually bent the needle yesterday because my husband couldn't hold him tight enough. :(

Squirming during the injection is actually a good sign. It's when they have no reaction that you need to worry...

Glad he is doing well and healing up for you.
 
OH, and the vet said to try feeding him a f/t pinky this week and see if he takes it. If the f/t pinky doesn't work, try a live one, and then a frozen right after it. Once I can get him to take f/t pinky mice, I should move up to fuzzies, then hoppers, and so on. So, hopefully I'll get him up to size on f/t.

Oh, and he's 270g. We don't have a good age for him, tho he's approx 2ft long. She said he's a bit underweight, but nothing to warrant force feeding.
