I would like to feed frosten mice to my snake but I am not sure about the hole defrosting part. Do you leave it out for a little or use a mice defroster from petsmart like the Artic Mice Defroster. Sorry I cant get a link to it. Which ways is a better way to defrost mice?
I'm new at this myself, but here's what I do.
I have a pint size plastic cup with a lid. It's one that I got from a local Chinese Resturaunt. They used them for take out orders. We're regulars there so all I had to do was ask for one, and the lady gave it to me.
I fill that about half way with slightly above lukewarm water and put the mouse in it. I let is stay there for about 20-30 minutes. Pour the water out, and repete the process. . . . After the second period, I drain the water again, then put to top on the cup and let it sit at room temp for another 30 minutes.
Remove it, pat it down with a paper towel and then feed it to my snake. . . . so far she's had no problem with it.
Just thought I'd add, if you're ever in a hurry, do NOT put the mouse in the microwave. It will explode.

Sounds like a mythnusters special: "what you can explode in the microwave".
Personally i do it the all natural way myself. Although i have heard that that can create bacteria. I have had my baby for almost two months now and no problems.
sorry its supposed to be mythbusters not nusters. My bad
Hey Y'all . . . . Wach this !!!
LOL !!
Do it......I DARE you!!!LOL![]()
I use the bag in warm water.I repeat it twice then take the mice out and hit them with the hair dryer to warm them up.Because I know I like my steak warm.So I am sure they like their mice warm.Plus they seem to eat them alot better warm!!
i also thaw them in water too, however i do not use a plastic bag or anything, i just put the mouse straight into the warm water. once it is totally defrosted, i put the snake in the feeding bin, dump out the old water, put in new, hot water, swish it around a little, and then feed it to my snakes. i don't dry the mice off too much, because i feel the wetter they are, the better it is for the snake because this way i KNOW i'm not going to run into a dehydrated snake.
