Hi, I am a new member just joined a day or so ago. I've been reading and researching. I don't have a corn snake at the moment, but plan on getting one (or two) in the next few months.

Have a couple questions, but not sure where to post them... If I place a deposit (or pay in full) can/will a breeder hold the snake for a few months (about 4 months)? Will being in the same room as rabbits and degus be stressful for the snake?

I haven't been able to find the answers to these questions when I have been doing searches. Could be my google-fu is broken.

As for the first question, every breeder is different. The biggest problem you will have is deciding what you want after you see the dazzling array of babies that will be up for sale the next few months!

As for question number 2.....I don't know about rabbits or degus, but my 2 pet ratties live in the same room with my snakes, and neither the ratties or the snakes seem to mind!

I am glad it most likely won't stress them. I could separate them during the winter, but during the summer it's cheaper to keep one room cooler (thinking ahead a bit I know) than two.

I want all the babies I've seen posted to tell you the truth. But the two "types" I am most attracted to are the lavender motley and amel (fluorescent orange) and have been stalking the Serpenco page daily, lol.

Think about it carefully. . . you want one now, but if you ever pick one up and hold it, you're addicted for life. I know, I stand before you a fully addicted corn snake junkie. There's still time to back away now before it's too late !!

Amels are nice, my first corn was an amel. He's 13 now!
Lav mots are GORGEOUS!

My favorites right now are striped with anything bloodred or diffused.

That's part of the problem... Someone dumped one on my friend and while visiting her and helping with the research I became hooked. I have always loved snakes (caught dekays, garters, and the occasional copperhead as a kid), but in a few months I will be in a place where I can consider owning my first. Once I held her snake (Rodney) I decided that I will definitely be getting one!

They are all beautiful snakes. The fluorescent orange ones are so bright! And the lavendar motleys are gorgeous. Maybe one day I can have one of every color, just kidding, maybe...
 
Welcome Jenne. I've heard quite a few times about people being interested in snakes after they hold one. I think a lot of people that are scared or put-off by snakes would change their mind if they just did that.
