new to me Okatee to come home, but was fed this AM

I just posted an intro on the new member forum and after delving into all the great info on this site, I'm so excited to be here!

I'm setting up the viv and getting it to temp so I can bring home my new to me 1+ yr old Okatee boy. My concern is after reading all the info on handling after feeding, I'm concerned about moving him today since they just fed him this AM. Could I be risking a regurg? Or worse??? I'm getting him from a herp pet store (been there a long time, very clean, very helpful staff, very happy looking critters of all kinds) and the guy said it isn't an issue to move him today. Should I go get him or wait until tomorrow?

I think as long as you put him in his viv and leave him alone once you get home he will be ok... I've bought a snake the day it was fed and had no issues... Just make sure you give him at least a week to settle in once you get him home...:rolleyes:
 
I'd wait 48 hours, if they didn't mind. A regurge would be a horrible way to start a relationship.
 
I'd do what Nanci said (shes been doing this longer than me) it never hurts to wait a couple days... Mine did fine but every snake has it's own personality...
 
Thanks for the feedback - including the spelling error... oops! I know I'll learn something new every time I log in. I did go ahead an bring him home in a pillowcase set inside a plastic bin. When we got home I just let him slide out of the pillowcase into the viv. He cruised around a little and curled up in the warm-side hide. I'll keep checking him every couple of hours to see how he's doing.

I wouldn't bother him every couple of hours, more like once a day, he needs to settle in.

Right. I meant just to go take a quick peek at the viv to verify temps are OK, not to go in and poke around in there. We're gonna be hands off for quite a few days, except to just change the water.
