Several ATBs

Thanks for posting the beautiful ATB shots!

I have to go with several of the others for the favorite - I REALLY like orange and red, lol! But they are all great!

My favorites are Calisto (he looks like a Leopard!!!), Belmiro (quite possibly the most perfect looking animal I've ever seen!), And Silverio and Tiago are pretty freaking cool as well. Funny too that the majority of the ones I like happen to be friendly. I'm wanting one of these more and more lately. You're a bad influence!!!

I think that a snake to snake (individual) basis can pretty much apply to most snakes and is, probably, most notable (to people) in those that are of a more "aggressive" species.
Some ATBs (& other Arboreals) are more docile than others (be they CB or WC).
However, generally, wild caught individuals tend to display more aggression. There is much better luck, for more docile animals, with those that are captive bred.
Of course (even with CB), the level (amount) of handling can play a part ... as can the method of handling, its care, etc.

I can, and do, handle most of mine without much concern (and without use of snake hooks) ... IOW the majority (of mine) are rather docile and are very easy, to handle, without much fear of a bite (these are CB). Two, of them (one CB and one LTC), I have to be a little cautious with and, with two others (both LTC), I have to be extra cautious. Of course, by far, the docile individuals are the most pleasant to deal with and I do handle the more docile individuals for more than just having to take them out for viv cleaning, etc.
Those that are more aggressive (esp. the two mentioned), could come to be less aggressive, through becoming more accustomed to my presence &/or the daily routines,... though it does not mean that their attitude ~will~ be converted.
Their bites are not really too bad regardless. ATB teeth are so sharp that it isn't really painful. Although no bite can really be said to be pleasant ... "the shock factor is worse than the actual bite" from an ATB 'Course, if bitten, by an ATB, the chances of drawing blood are high ... but the blood can, very easily, be stopped.

I guess the bottom line is that ... it is possible to have an ATB that is along the more docile lines and that can be handled. They just require a little different form, of handling, than, let's say, what most Cornsnakes, etc. receive.

This is Silverio.
Name used to be Silveria but proved to be male so name was changed.
He is an '07 and is fairly friendly.

What a beautiful snake! I was wondering if you got Silverio from Ben Siegel? He looks like one of the Red headed Amazons that Ben was selling on Kingsnake.

GREAT photos! Thank you for sharing them with us. They're all just too awesome! My favs are Belmiro & Iria followed closely by Ciro. However, they're all very great looking snakes. Tiago makes me crack up though. In the pic where he's coming at the camera, his head looks WAY to big for his body to support.

As for the bites... this is where it gets leery for me. I know that if you have one of these babies, you're gonna get tagged. So, would a bite from them be comparable to being bit by a Texas Rat or Beauty Rat? I've been bitten by them and haven't had to fuss about it. But for some reason, these guys SCARE me. LOL. Even looking at them from behind the glass gives me the creeps.

I really hope to see more of these guys!

Yep, got Silverio from Ben Siegel. I think Ben has, also, had one, or some more, (like Silverio) listed since the time I got him.
These pics, of Silverio, were taken on March 19th. He has changed some (& grown more, of course), since that time ... and, IMO, looks even nicer.

True, they are prone to being biters but ... there are those that are pretty tame.

So, would a bite from them be comparable to being bit by a Texas Rat or Beauty Rat?

Have never been bitten by a Texas, or Beauty, Rat but have by a couple/few other species (including ATBs).
The bites, from an ATB, really aren't too bad (and baby bites, from most any species, are negligible ).
Compared to a Cornsnake bite (to put it closer to a Ratsnake bite), an ATB bite is a bit different but ... not any worse (IMO).
ATB bites puncture the skin like needles, so do draw blood (the bleeding stops very quickly), but it is a quick bite & release... unlike Kings that have those muscles, for a good grip, and can hang on like bulldogs (clamping, & perhaps grinding, down harder with each of your movements). I'd rather get bit by an ATB than, say, a grown Florida King in "Bulldog mode".
Any pain, from an ATB bite, is very tolerable because it is so split second quick ... and ATB teeth are quite sharp (& not extremely long either)... just as soon as you feel anything, from the bite, it is over with just as quick. Sometimes, the ATB's fang/s may get hung up on your skin, when they are trying to let go, but, again, it really isn't too bad.
The only time I have had any lasting (though negligible) pain, from an ATB bite, are the couple of times when one of them (adult) happened to puncture one of my larger veins (the type that kind of stick out) ... feels, for some days, like after a nurse does a botched job at trying to get a needle in for an intravenous drip... bruised or some such.
Now, what may make it just a wee bit "worse" is the mistake that some folks do ... jerk away at the precise moment that they get bit ... this can create a tearing rather than just a minor puncturing. As you may gather, I never jerk away. This is for two reasons ... one is for my own benefit and the other is to not cause harm to the snake (to their teeth, or anything else, due to jerking away).

'Course, every person is different too. Some folks can tolerate a great deal while some cannot handle even the tiniest pin prick (and others fall somewhere in the middle). So, for those in the extreme least tolerant group ... any bite may be a huge deal to them.

I really hope to see more of these guys!

These photos are 5 - 6 months old. I think the most recent ones are some that were taken in June & July and posted in the Cs.com ATB forum. There is, also, another of my ATBs pictured, there, that is not in this thread.
One of these days, I'll have to take some more photos.
