and a bredls, i need one of them as well. ;)

thanks

very very pretty! I'm jealous! I really need to stop looking at pictures of other snakes... i don't have the money or space.
Thanks for sharing!

yes, but all the ones i want are more expensive than basic corns!! :p Someday I will have snakes to my hearts desire!! :)

haha peer pressure!! are pythons harder to care for than corns? and if so, how much harder? (what I really want, though is a red tailed boa!)

Erm I would be careful with simplifying it overmuch as it may cost someone his snake... Carpets are a tad different. They need more general humidity for one. And it is highly advised to provide elevation for them to coil around(vines/branches/whatever).

Pythons in general are more sensitive to drastic temperatures- Pythons will be less forgiving to thermal mistakes than Colubrids. Maintaining a 28-30 C on the warm side is essential. Or build a proper day-night cycle as you deem fit.

No they are -not- extremely difficult or anything, but they require a tad more care

good point! i was assuming that the person would choose to do extensive research on the internet on in books before buying, i was purely meaning that they had not 'Special' requirements unlike things like ATPs and such, yes they need a bit more care but it is marginal. the two things you pointed out (height and temps) are recommended by most but the climbing part is not considered essential but yes the temps might need to be slightly more accurate IMO.

Your right about the elevation/perch needed for them..... But your wrong about the humidity.... They need a spray to help them shed but they can live at room humidity (UK).
And they are very hardy to temp changes.... They go through a vast temp gradient day to night in the wild.....
Torsten if you want any morphs pm me...... I have a few for sale,,, jungle/jags...Jungle/jag sibs..... Diamond x jungles... Diamond jungle/jag..... And a very nice pure jungle.....

wow, thanks guys, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, torsten! I'm sorry!

Of course I would do much more extensive research before I thought about getting another snake, I just wanted to know if they required much more specialized care as opposed to the "beginner herper" corns.

You all definitely answered my question though! thanks again!
