Handling snakes while they are in blue?

I bought an Female anery just over a week ago. I took her out of the cup at the reptile show after I bought her and this snake was so calm and at ease it was almost scarry. Opened the lid and she crawled out onto my hand/arm and just looked around and was not frightend at all.
A lady sitting beside us, asked if she could hold it, and when she picked her up, the snake was the same around her as well.
She was this way the first few days at home as well. I fed her mid week, and left her alone for two days, but when I checked on her then, I saw she was in blue phase.
I picked her up without a problem, and I put her in a small box to clean her up (a routine I do with my other snake), she was OK until I went to get her out. She turned into a little demon snake when I took the lid off the box. She bit me three or four times before I was able to corner her and get her out of the container. When I set her back in her viv, she tagged me again for good measure. . . . . . she shed yesterday, and now she's back to her normal calm self. I can put my hand down in the viv near her and she'll crawl over and check me out. She has no issues with being picked up now too.
 
One thing to think about, is that when snakes are in blue they sometimes can't see as well, which makes them feel more vulnerable. At least that is my thought, and I've seen some snakes be a lot more skittish when in blue. Plus, it seems like they might be a tad bit uncomfortable. My ghost just shed and she was actually more flighty (and slippery) afterwards, silly snakeyshorts.

yeah, that's what I've always heard and read too.
It's like us when we're swimming underwater. We can see things, but can't make out detail. . . . snakes being skiddish creatures to begin with, are a lot more so when in Blue Phase. During that time, I guess they're just like
"Take no chances, just bite the hell out of anything that moves"

Mine's in blue for the first time since I got him. Normally when I pick him up he wriggles a bit and then calmes down. I picked him up yesterday and he was very very wriggly and didn't calm down like he normally does, so I have left him be until he sheds.

Yeah, even when their eyes clear up before they shed, they're still very "irratable" with that skin on. Once mine shed, it seems like the attitude totally changes.
 
Mine does that too, he gets wayyyyy nervous when he's either in blue, or back to normal, ready to shed. As soon as shedding is done, he's back to normal!
