Aaaaarg, I've been using my herpstat not yet a week and it seems to be dead D: Can anyone tell me if it's possible to fix?
First off, it's not under warranty anymore as I actually bought it a while ago, I just hadn't used it much. Now I've finally got my setup where I want to use it going, and poof! It's not turning on or apparently conducting electricity...

I suspect what happened is that my boyfriend fried it as he attempted to plug the iron into it's extension cable, not realizing it was to the thermostat XP Is it fried or is there something I can do to fix it??

Hmm, opened it up, may just be a blown fuse; hopefully won't be too hard to fix. Will require some soldering though.

I'd call or write the guy and ask him what to do. I wouldn't use it if there is any question about its integrity at all.

Well if it's just a fuse I don't see the point in throwing out a $100 piece of equipment for a fairly easy to replace $1 part :p

However, spyder robotics got back to me and were kind enough to offer to fix the herpstat for just the cost of shipping! They said it was definitely a blown fuse. I already ordered more fuses though @-@ Well I'd prefer to have spyder robotics fix it, guess I'll have them in case this happens again. Although I intend to clearly label the thermostat outlet so hopefully it won't :p

At least they can check it out while it's there and give it a clean bill of health. I always liked that guy, is his name Dion? He's always been really helpful to me.
