I know he is large but I did warn you he is JUST like a dog LoL

He is kinda like a garbage disposal Tegus eat SOOOOO many different types of foods .... He is awesome but he is HUGE so he does take up quite a lot of space.

She is so wonderful! Is she a normal or some other colour phase, because she is so brilliantly coloured!

That's an awsomw Tegu, I'd imagine he'd come with a heafty food bill!!!lol:)

you know I guess I don't notice because he eats mostly what we eat. he does get a rat once a week but mostly fresh fruits and veggies, the occasional egg something or another and some sorta meat in there somewhere ...

I have 2 guinea pigs and a rabbit so twice a week I cut up a BUNCH of fruits and veggies for everyone .... I even cook with those hahaha it's just an easy system

his FAV thing besides his weekly rat is tomatoes, which he can't have very much of so sometimes if he doesn't eat his fruits and veggies I will put a small piece of tomato underneath everything .... he eats then lol.

I guess in the long run he has helped me eat better ... i forgot how much I love fresh fruits and veggies ... lol

So happy I saw this post!

I have been thinking about getting a Beardie for a long time now, and am looking for one later in the Spring. They do seem like a tremendous amount of work, but of course very rewarding. I also LOVE gargoyle geckos, they have the most amazing eyes. The only downside to lizards/geckos is the bug factor and having to raise those too....too bad you can just do a weekly pinkie like the snakes :p

Kind of reminds me of a parrot diet.Main food source supplimented with tons of fruit, veggies, pasta......A tegu or monitor would be lots of fun but not feasible for me.:)
