Bad News/Good News...

Well genetic morphs are not good for sankes or any animal for that matter yes I have them and yes I am gettin some in the future but some morphs can have bad effects. I once saw an albino bull snake and a normal bull same size sex and cage type 20 gallon long size custom built cage well the albino could not even get close to the mouse and his owner had to just put the mouse on the bedding and then ot took the snake 15 minutes to even find it the normal bull grabbed, constricted and began feeding in less than a minute. It is not likely but could have played a roll. I mean dropping a snake twice is deffinatly a bad thing but I would think that you would have seen earlier signs. Did you check temps, beddings etc etc etc.
There is no such thing as perfect husbandry no hobbyist can provide the prime caging for any animal. No zoo, keeper, or reasearcher. But many of the people on the forum get pretty damn close. I have read albino and leucy animals can not have heat lights as it damages their organs scince they have no pigment or no black pigment.

David you really need to think before you post things... Josh isn't as ignorant as you pass yourself off to be, I highly doubt he had anything to do with the snake's death. If the snake was dropped twice the day he bought it it stands to reason he was dropped before and reoccuring instances would cause problems.

Josh, I am so sorry for your loss. I was looking forward to comparing notes with you regarding our LTR's and they're growing years... Hopefully you can get another one (if you want) in the future so that we can still share notes on these guys.

Even though you only had him a short while, I do know that it can be tough...

Ok, Josh I am sure you a re a wonderful keeper as am I. Yes the snake drop could have played a role and it very well could be a number of things it already had. But genetic morphs hurt snkae and it is a proven fact. They are literally mutilation. I continue to get them but the effects of the mutations are unknown. Look at scaleless rats no scales what idiot thought up that? I mean really it seems that I can't post anything without gettina slap in the face well I don't care any more

There is nothing in the condition of Leucism itself that hurts the animal. Leucism is simply a lack of pigment, more so than Albinism. You want to tell me that the animal being Albino "hurts" it also?
You find me a source that says the condition itself is actually harmful to the animal and I will read it...you will still be useless in my book, but I will read it.

PS...the bold part of your quote at top is what I find very questionable.

If you've ever lost a snake you cared about (if that's even possible with the way you act and the stories you've told) then you would know how painful it must be for Josh. I care about ever single snake that comes into my house. I am tired of pussying out every time I get into this. I know the pain of that. I just lost my great grandmother. I have only ever had one snake die in my care it died of an incurable disease cyptosporidium. SO if I dislike my snaks how come they are fine? I am sorry for your loss. It could be the camera angle, too. I have a blue-eyed dog, but when you take a picture of him his eyes look red.
