Lee Abbott's Okeetees

Kernel has been on hoppers since December 22nd. I'm betting that in another 6 weeks or so I'll upgrade him to the next size.

My story is similar to Eddie's. Lee picked out Kernel and when I opened the shipping box and saw him for the first time I was a little disappointed in the lack of colors. Lee told me the same thing he told Eddie - that the ones that are very dark and lightly colored as hatchlings tend to be the most stunning and awesome when adults. That picked up my spirits better than anything else could. As Kernel sheds each time his colors get a little better. I enjoy looking at other photos of full grown Abbotts, and can't wait for Kernel to reach adulthood.

I agree, Jen - there is no such thing as a "plain" or "ugly" Abbotts! They just don't exist, from all the photos I've looked at.

My guy's plane just departed FL. Poor guy, getting sent to new england... I was hoping for 50s or 60s like last week, but it's bloody cold out now, 20 F. I hope that heat pack will keep him warm enough. :(

jen,
Is he being shipped right to your house, or do you have to pick him up at a certain location?

Here is a dated picture of my May '08 Abbott's. He's very friendly, easy to handle, and a voracious eater (except for the past few month when his cage temp dropped to the low '70s. His UTH still is set between 80 and 85 degrees, but with the house temp a little lower during the winter he only ate about once every two weeks. His appetite has returned, however.

Lee picked "Kernel" out for me. He was very easy to deal with.

Nice animal, I really like the OKeetees with the lighter ground color and the great red blotches and thick borders.

I am not sure you could go wrong with either but I am partial to South Mountain, almost all of my animals are from Don and I am not displeased with anything I have from him plus he is great before and after the sale. I am sure Lee is also but I have never bought from him.

He will be shipped right to my house, supposedly I can expect around noon time. That's a bit later than I said I would be out (noon still counts as morning, right?) Ooops, oh well!

MANCHESTER, NH, US 03/24/2009 6:32 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

The little guy is in my state. I'm guessing he'll have to swing by Dover and then he'll be out for delivery!!

EDIT:

DOVER, NH, US 03/24/2009 8:03 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY

Yeeeah! I was right. Shouldn't be long now : )

You guys have been SOOOOOO helpful and convincing. Just what I needed to make an educated decision. Everyone was right about Lee, he is great to deal with. So I pre-paid for an 09 female. I told him I have complete trust in his pick for me. He said he will definitely pick me a killer female. Mannnnnnnnnn...I can't wait. Until then, I'll have to live vicariously through you guys. LOL!
